RAK Properties PJSC, Ras Al Khaimah’s largest property developer listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, has signed an AED 30 million enabling works contract with Al Nuaimi Group for its upcoming Anantara Resort & Spa within the Mina Al Arab development.
The contract between Al Nauimi Group and RAK Properties includes piling and earthworks for a 306-room resort, which will be operated by Minor Hotels under its Anantara brand when it opens in late 2018. The property will feature Ras Al Khaimah’s first Maldives-inspired overwater villas, four restaurants, a spa and other leisure facilities.
RAK Properties Managing Director and CEO Mohammed Sultan Al Qadi said: “Once construction is complete, Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa will form a key part of the international hospitality offering of our largest development in the emirate, providing visitors and residents with an iconic venue to relax and be entertained.”
The Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort will be situated within a secluded and picturesque area with its own 9,000sqm private beach overlooking a stunning eco-reserve lined with mangroves. Nestled on a site measuring 73,664sqm within RAK Properties’ landmark development, Mina Al Arab, the hotel will be Minor Hotels’ first venture into the emirate.
Among the featured amenities of the resort are various health and sports facilities, such as the world-famous Anantara Spa, swimming pools and a tennis court. Additionally, the property will include a ballroom with further events and meeting space, and a dedicated kids’ and teens’ club. In terms of its restaurant offerings, the resort will offer an all-day dining option, a Thai specialty restaurant, a seafood restaurant and an outdoor sun bar.
RAK Properties continues to support Ras Al Khaimah’s key motto of becoming one of the region’s leading real estate, tourism, leisure and investment hub. Only a 45 minutes’ drive from Dubai International Airport, RAK Properties’ Mina Al Arab development has already established itself as one of the premier waterfront communities in the United Arab Emirates, contributing significantly to local economic growth.
Earlier this year, the developer announced the next phase of Mina Al Arab with an investment of AED 5 billion. Measuring approximately 811,420sqm, the development will feature an international 5-star hotel, an international 4-star lifestyle resort, serviced apartments, a shopping mall, beautiful beach and waterfront apartments, villas and townhouses with a private beach clubhouse, and various beachfront al fresco dining and entertainment venues.
